What Did Palin Write on Her Hand????
I DON’T CARE!
If you haven’t heard Sarah Palin had a few words written on her hand during her televised Tea Party Convention speech. Now everyone is going crazy with ridicule and speculation. Meanwhile our President, who made a career on being a good public speaker, won’t talk anywhere unless an expensive teleprompter is present. Woman has to write a few words on her hand to spark a memory? Obama needs a teleprompter to say “thank you” to a crowd. Calm down people.
As long as Palin did not write, “Karl Marx is Awesome” or “Chairman Mao is my favorite philosopher” I really don’t think it matters. This kind of celebrity “I gotcha” obsessed hyper media aware nonsense is what has destroyed the political process. If I want nonsense I will go back to reading about Michelle Obama’s clothes.

1. Did the GOP give Obama a teleprompter for his Q&A session with them? I don’t believe that was the case, and he held his own fairly well there.
2. I think the bigger issue that people seem to be ignoring is the fact that Sarah is wearing a bracelet designed for POW/KIA soldiers with her son’s name on it. If he is lost then I feel very sorry for her family. If she did not know what it meant then she should stop wearing it (I do not believe a formal apology is necessary).

They WERE worn in the Vietnam Era as POW/MIA bracelets but in recent years have seen a resurgence not only for those lost but also as a reminder that soldiers are still fighting and often worn by family & loved ones until a soldier comes home.

I’m so freaking sick of “gotcha!” politics. I can’t tell you who’s worse, the right or the left. Both have gotten so petty and ridiculous that it’s not even annoying anymore, it’s beyond that…it’s just stupid. We’ve got 40 year old bloggers writing about Palin/Gibbs/Obama (M and B) not because they’ve done something worth writing about, but because they have nothing to write so to get blog hits and “street cred” they pick the dumbest shit to write about so they can claim “FIRST!!”. This is why a lot of people are becoming disinterested. It’s not the 24hr news outlets, though they can share some blame, it’s just why not fill the time with actual news, an outfit, a cigarette, or some writing on one’s hand is NOT FUCKING NEWS!!!

Agreed, I am making a commitment to try and avoid the petty stuff unless it is pointing out how dumb it is. For instance, Palin has writing on her hand, Obama uses TelePrompTers, let’s move on.
The other thing I am NOT going to do, is worry about what MSNBC does. Unless it truly is newsworthy, for instance Chris Matthews kills a hooker or Keith Olbermann takes a shot at someone, I think conservatives are wasting far too much time worrying about a TV channel no one watches anyway. Who cares, let them be nutty.

Thank you on the correction. At the time I posted the comment I had not seen that topic discussed anywhere (though I see KOS now has a page up on it). I knew what they were for. I hadn’t heard that they now represent all active soldiers. Good for her then.

No prob, you really came out of the gate swinging on that one, thought you knew something, lol. Thought you were going to personally track her down and pull the thing off.

What I find so very interesting about Palin is her ability to evoke frothing at the mouth from the left. It is almost Cheney-like. Of further interest is that the left then used the fact that she jotted some notes on her palm (I would have preferred a nice neat note card) as some kind of proof that she should be compared to Obama and his use of the teleprompter. Should we hold a former governor to same expectations as the Pres? And in the end, do we care? :)
My issue with Obama and the teleprompter is that he rarely appears without it – even to children. His townhalls and pressies are scripted to the second. Makes me wonder what they are afraid he will say without it.
