What happened to the “weekly” address?

Facebook Twitter Email Delicious Reddit Stumble

I could be wrong here but last week GOP Chairman Michael Steele gave his first “weekly” YouTube address. I have this “weekly” address from February 6th 2009:

Which means his next “weekly” address should have been this Friday seven days since his last address. It is now almost Monday, ten days since that address. What gives?

I know everyone is excited about this Web 2.0 Internet stuff but the old rules of time, space and marketing apply. If you say you are going to do something, you have to do it. So far Barack Obama has been keeping up his innovation of doing the President’s radio address on YouTube. The GOP either needs to never refer to these as “weekly” addresses again or keep to a schedule.

This is an even more embarrassing oversight considering Steele spent Friday soliciting advice about how the Republican Party can embrace technology. Actually using technology and doing so repeatedly would probably be STEP 1.

IF I am somehow missing something and such an address exists and is for some reason not on the YouTube Channel, linked from the GOP site etc. I apologize, but if I am right I say “Michael Steele get a camera and get moving!” We are going to look like the same buffoons with no idea of how to run technology as we did through the entire election. Frankly I am not all that impressed with someone uploading a video on YouTube, eight year olds can do that, but you said “weekly” and that is what I expect.
