More than anything, I appreciate her small government, fiscally responsible instincts. My main criticism is that she inspires an Obama-esque cult of personality. Her supporters seem to have a hard time acknowledging when she does something questionable – which she has done and will do again should she stay politically involved. While she may be one of the most promising figures on our side, she is not above reproach, and we can’t blame EVERYTHING that comes out of her mouth on the media. Sometimes she is just human, sometimes we are going to disagree with her, and that’s okay. We need to hold people accountable – ESPECIALLY the ones on our side.
Right on! I really dig Palin but her followers are starting to occupy the Ron Paul, Barack Obama frenzied land of “She can do no wrong.” I have a strong distaste for those Republicans now throwing her under the bus to further their own careers and those who walk around repeating the liberal media narratives that are off base and downright sexist. With that said, the woman has much to criticize on substance and on how she handles her message. I am also not convinced leaving her term is the best of ideas, though I understand it.
I love Palin, but she is not a God any more than Obama. It is OK to admit she is not perfect and she has a lot of work to do. Ronald Reagan did not just go from actor to brilliant politician in one short instant. He worked at it, he stumbled, he got better. The same can be said of Palin. However if we ignore the glaringly obvious we are no better than the Obamabots on the left.
