Michael Moore tells CNS News that despite the millions he has made from his films and books that were distributed by evil corporations, capitalism has done nothing for him. His reasoning? He actually had to work and invest personally to get them produced and distributed. Seriously, watch the clip above. He actually suggests he hasn’t benefited from capitalism because it wasn’t easy to get a film made or a book published.
Poor Michael Moore, while anti-status-quo documentary filmmakers and book writers in communist and socialist countries like Cuba and Venezuela are practically begged to tell their stories, he actually had to work to make millions of dollars and have a couple of books published. Someone call a radio station in Venezuela I think they have a story! What? It is hard to find a radio station left in Venezuela? You are probably just not trying hard enough.
I don’t begrudge Moore for making millions. His story is in many ways a very American story. In this nation you can not only get an unpopular, polarizing and anti-power message out to the people, you can profit from it too! You can even be a massive jerkoff and pretend like you did not benefit from the American way of life at all while walking down a red carpet to showcase your latest movie to a bunch of people who kiss your fat butt.
I do think it is important to point out that Moore’s statement is either an amazing example of how distorted his vision of reality is OR it is a blatant lie.
