Last night Republican Congressman Chris Lee resigned in disgrace. Gawker had published a shirtless photo and email exchange with a woman that was posted by the married Congressman to the site Craigslist. It is now now being reported Speaker Boehner had previously called out the Congressman for partying too much with female lobbyists.
Sadly Lee was my Congressman here in the 26th district of New York. A fiscal conservative, he was often a lone light standing out across the blue sea of reckless liberalism in the state. There are few elected Republicans in New York and to be very honest, the ones we have are as corrupt and incompetent as the Democrats. Lee seemed like one of only a few worthy of respect. It now turns out, that respect was misplaced.
