You have to love an open microphone, unless you are caught plotting near one.
From the Washington Times:
“On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved, but it’s important for him to give me space,” Mr. Obama told Mr. Medvedev at the end of their 90-minute meeting, apparently referring to incoming Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is my last election,” Mr. Obama said. “After my election, I have more flexibility.”
The Russian leader responded, “I understand. I transmit this information to Vladimir.”
For those not following the US and Russia have been at odds over a planned missile defense shield in Europe. Russia feels we are building it with the intent at aiming arms toward them. We say that isn’t the case. Regardless this discussion makes it appear Obama is delaying a real conversation until after his election and possibly that he is presenting a different plan in public while negotiating what could be a watered down or more Russia friendly plan after the election.
