Santorum Says Romney Worst Republican Against Obama, But Would Be His Veep

Interesting mix of talk from Rick Santorum who lashed out at a New York Times reporter calling BS at the suggestion Santorum meant anything beyond Romney’s position on health care when he stated Mitt was the worst choice to go up against Barack Obama in the fall. This follows a statement last week by Santorum, “If you’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the etch a sketch candidate of the future,” that the Romney campaign and others took as suggesting voters should stick with President Obama rather than vote for Romney. Santorum denies that was the meaning.

The heated rhetoric was contrasted by Santorum who also told the Brody File he would consider being the former Governor’s Vice Presidential nominee. Interesting that he would want to be second banana on a ticket he doesn’t seem to have much faith in.

Watching the rhetoric it doesn’t look likely Romney would give Santorum a chance at the VP slot regardless of whether he would take it. Meanwhile some are growing uncomfortable with Santorum’s outbursts and attacks including John Sununu who said the statements “completely disqualified” Santorum.
