United States Essentially Ends Investigation into Death of Christopher Stevens

Ambassador Chris Stevens Benghazi Attacks

The State Department has removed all personnel from Benghazi, reportedly ending the investigation in the death of Christopher Stevens.

From the Atlantic Wire:

Although it has been three weeks since the assault there that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other embassy employees, the FBI has still not been able to visit the compound, set up any operations in the city, or even interview any witnesses who were present during the terrorist attack.

You may remember that the official story put forward by the administration collapsed despite repeated attempts by high-profile Obama administration representatives to stick to the story long-after the facts were apparent to everyone.

Now new reports show that militants freed during the Arab Spring in Libya were involved in the attack. The Wall Street Journal reports militants tied to Muhammad Jamal Abu Ahmad, who was freed, were involved. Meanwhile The Daily Beast reveals that there was another bombing of the consulate along with increasing threats leading up to the September 11th attacks. Yet our ambassador appears to have been left defenseless.

Why has it taken so long to investigate? Why was the administration clinging so hard to a false story while all the evidence pointed to a terrorist attack? Why was our ambassador, his staff and others not protected? What happened that night? Why were we involved in the Libyan Arab Spring to begin with?
