Rick Santorum Won the Iowa Caucus
After originally declaring Mitt Romney the winner, the Iowa GOP reversed course and announced because of voting irregularities no winner could be announced but that the official tally would put Rick Santorum ahead of Governor Romney.

Mitt Romney Wins Iowa Caucus
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney won the Iowa Caucus held on 1/03/2012. By a margin of just 8 votes, the closest caucus in history, Romney edged out former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum.
There were 122,255 votes cast, Romney won 30,015 beating out Santorum at 30,007. Texas Representative Ron Paul came in third.
