2012 Republican Candidate Herman Cain
American businessman Herman Cain formed a Presidential Exploratory Committee in January 2011 and participated in the first Republican 2012 primary debate in May 2011. Cain is popular among conservatives. In October 2011 the web site Politico revealed Cain had been accused of sexual harassment by two women in the 1990′s when he was CEO of the National Restaurant Association. Both cases had been settled out of court. Cain initially denied specific knowledge of the events but later revealed he had more knowledge of the cases.
After the report other accusers came forward including Ms. Sharon Bialek who in a televised speech with lawyer Gloria Allred at her side, revealed specific and graphic accusations of sexual harassment by Cain. During a televised speech on November 8th 2011 Cain addressed these accusations, denying they or any other misconduct has occurred in his life. The campaign also revealed evidence of Bialek’s troubled legal and financial history. Cain not only denied the charges but revealed that he had no recollection of ever meeting her. At the moment no specific evidence has been brought forward to confirm these accusations and the Cain campaign is continuing.
