All agree that the bursting of the housing bubble caused the financial collapse of 2008. Most agree that the housing bubble started in 1997. Less well understood is that this bubble was the result of government policies that lowered mortgage-lending standards to increase home ownership. One of the key players was the controversial liberal advocacy group, Acorn (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now).

The watershed moment was the 1992 Federal Housing Enterprises Financial Safety and Soundness Act, also known as the GSE Act. To comply with that law’s “affordable housing” requirements, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would acquire more than $6 trillion of single-family loans over the next 16 years.

Congress’s goal was to force these two government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) to purchase loans that had been originated by banks—loans that were made under the pressure of another federal law, the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), to increase lending in low- and moderate-income communities.

If you haven’t been following the story of ACORN workers telling two undercover investigators how to basically run a childhood sex ring, well you are probably watching CNN or reading the New York Times. For the rest of us, the story has been absolutely amazing and disgusting.

My absolute favorite part of this story though comes in ACORN’s defense. One of the arguments ACORN representatives have made is that these videos are part of a “smear” campaign targeting their organization. They say the investigators were perpetrating a scam and the evidence comes from the fact that they went to several different offices and failed before hitting the two that were documented.

Interesting defense! So let me ask you this, just how many ACORN offices would one need to go to in order to find more sex slave supporting workers as enthusiastic as the four caught on tape? We have two different locations, we know that it took more than two tries to find them. Hold on, let me pull out the abacus, OK now please tell me, how many offices did these two visit before striking gold? Three? Four? Five? Ten? Just what is the ratio here? What percentage of ACORN offices will engage in the promotion of illegal activities if one were to inquire?

Is there an acceptable percentage? If only ten percent of all acorn offices engage in giving advice on how to skirt the law or show indifference to the exploitation of minors, is that OK?

For those wondering what it would take for the Census Bureau to drop the despicable organization ACORN from being involved in the census, well, the promotion of child sex slavery appears to be the answer. For those wanting a piece of the census action take note. If you want to commit repeated fraud, fine, just don’t get caught on tape promoting the child sex trade.

It was just, oh not even a few days ago, that the Obama administration and the DNC and the liberal left was crying fowl over the grassroots rise against politicians pushing Health Care. “They must be manufactured” they cried. “This cannot be spontaneous, this MUST be orchestrated! People LOVE our HC plans. Ignore the polls. Ignore logic, RIGHT WING, RIGHT WING, ANGRY WHITES GRAAAAAAH”

It was the same argument against the Tea Parties where those wacky liberals were claiming FOX News and the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy were rounding up racists and rednecks to form fake protests. So the story is simple, SURE there are people protesting but they don’t really believe what they are saying because it is all just theater. If there is one thing liberals know, it is theater.

Today the narrative has suddenly shifted. Recognizing that the American people are not happy with the President’s “MUST DO THIS NOW” push toward socialized medicine, the story has changed. Fighting back against the average citizens liberals have brought their own actors to the scene. SEIU, ACORN, MoveOn.org and the like have been hired to counter those citizens who would dare question authority!

You see, liberals can easily suspect the right of employing the dirty trick of creating an outraged mob out of thin air, they do it all the time. Anywhere Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton go, so goes the paid liberal mob. When MoveOn.org needs a helping hand, they rouse the mob. Someone says something on TV or radio that is offensive? Give the mob a phone number and tell them to demand, demand, demand.

So now the narrative has switched. Instead of the Obama administration asking for Americans to spy on their neighbors, the liberal left has stepped in. They are asking their own people to simply shout their neighbors down. They will now be at every town hall and crash every protest. Hired guns ready to ratchet up the tension. They will undoubtedly dress their own in swastikas and have them shouting as loud as possible for our side. Why? To give the newspapers pretty pictures and to control the view.

Listen to the arguments on TV now. They have all been the same. Instead of extremist mob mentality they now acknowledge, “this is political theater, this is the way things are done. This is the way it always has been done, this is the way it always will.” That is because their own hired guns are out in force using the same tactics, only they really do have the organization and we don’t. They cannot go on television and say, “protest is mob mentality” because it is one of their most exploited tactics.

The new argument is, “left or right both sides are doing it and so the actions of each cancel one another out.” What that really means is, “Don’t investigate our own ties, how SEIU and ACORN got a President elected and knocked a Queen from her thrown in the Democratic primaries.” The show is over, the angry mob of the right replaced with genuine political debate. Debate they will say, “We are now winning because the forces on the side of socialized Health Care are much louder at these meetings. They will argue that every question now is, “why we aren’t doing more! We LOVE socialized medicine!”

Mediocrity is the new narrative, this has all been done before and will all be done again. Forget our overreaches in trying to destroy the opposite, forget our loony statements about suit wearing extremists and swastikas. This is all just a distraction we don’t condone and we want to get to, “The serious work of the American people.” It is their depraved notion of what leadership actually is.

Just watch as the language and the arguments change.
